Wooden Dice

Wooden Dice out of solid wood

You will first need to get an appropriate piece of wood. There are hardwood and softwood options that vary from about 3 cm to 6 cm in width/thickness.
  1. Get your piece of wood. Cut-off a length equal to the width/thickness. Using the mitre saw is recommended to get a clean and precise cut.
  2. Sand all your edges (hand sanding with a fine grit sandpaper)
  3. Layout out the lines/marks for where the holes are going by marking the centres of your holes. Remember that on a die, the opposite faces numbers always add up to 7 (1+6, 2+5, 3+4). Start by marking the diagonals on all faces of the die and then measure where the holes go by measuring distances along the diagonals from the centre of the face.
