Your body generates a small amount of electricity. Also, your body can conduct electricity - which is why it is important to NOT touch live wires.
The Makey Makey actually uses your body to complete a circuit allowing a VERY SMALL amount of electricity to flow. That is why anything you make with a Makey Makey must have one hand touching one wire connected to the Makey Makey ground and the other hand touching another wire connected to the Makey Makey.
