Scratch

Scratch is a block-programming environment developed to teach students coding concepts. Block-programming is a great way to learn coding concepts without dealing with the frustration of syntax errors. A syntax error might be as simple as a typo which generally will make your computer program not work AND possibly even give you some complicated and seemingly strange set of error messages (especially for beginners!).
You have a couple of options when using scratch:
  • Scratch on the WebScratch Online allows you to create projects without downloading and installing an application. It does require a (free) account if you want to save your creations.
  • Scratch AppA Scratch App can be downloaded and installed on many operating systems so you can create projects offline and without an account.Scratch may be available on some of the school laptops/computers already.
