You live in a remarkable time of technological innovation. Technological change has NEVER BEFORE IN HISTORY been as rapid as it is now. Technology has changed enormously in the past TEN YEARS. However, in the NEXT TEN YEARS (when you are in your 20’s), the change will be much greater. This type of change is called “Exponential Change (or Growth)”. In other words, the pace of change is hard to imagine!

FUTURE OF WORK

Robotics, automation, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI) are all examples of increasingly powerful and rapidly changing technologies. They are examples of ‘Disruptive Technologies’ that are now and will continue to radically change work, industry, and our lives.

For this assignment you will be creating a short presentation based on research into one career/job area that is or will be affected by rapidly changing technologies. This may be a job or career that might disappear, change, or be created by teachnology.

Ideally, take this opportunity to research and reflect on a particular area that you are personally interested in as a possible career.
